There is a bunny (who needs a name) that was found on a local campus. She had a severe eye infection and unfortunately the pus formed a mass under her eye in her long fur that attracted maggots. They were just beginning to live there. She also had a wound (possibly from a bite) that healed closed and the infection was left inside. She had surgery over the weekend and was spayed (for free by the vet during surgery). She is doing well but her vet bill was $735. If anyone is able to help pay this bill it would be appreciated. She is just a smidge over 2 pounds but she's already showing me she's feisty. I couldn't leave her on campus in her condition. She deserved a chance to live. Please help me help her. Donations can be made to paypal: firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you so much.
An update for everyone: Remember Hope, the black bunny with the horrible ear mites? She found an adoptive home and now has a husbun! YAY for Hope!
Change to last post: The funds being raised for the transport next week of red lined bunnies and ones left behind from a previous transport should all be donated to :savetheCAbunnies@yahoo.com via paypal. Thank you so much!
An update on Nellie: She is healing beautifully from her surgery and is scheduled to be spayed at the end of March. (Her spay surgery is already donated). She is a very lovable girl and I'm so thrilled to see her doing so well. Thank you so much for your help in giving her the treatment she needed.
Hi folks. We still owe on our vet bill for Nellie. $150 has been donated towards her care. If you are able to help us it would be appreciated. Nellie is doing great thanks to the fine vets who gave her such excellent care!
If anyone is able to help with Nellie's vet bill it would be greatly appreciated. So far we've raised $55 of the needed $438.25 to pay off her bill. No amount is too small to donate as it all helps us reach our goal to help her. Thank you.
Update on "Nellie". She is doing fine following her surgery. The abscess area was worse than expected but she is already eating and resting. I will be able to bring her home in the morning. I'm really looking forward to giving her some love and care. Because she was under anesthesia for awhile and with the risk of infection etc they opted not to do a spay surgery at this time. We will schedule that when she's recovered. Thank you so much to those who have donated and/or promised donations. I am so grateful to have the help given my own personal situation at the moment. Thank you so much for helping Nellie get the chance she deserves. I'll let you all know how she's doing tomorrow. :)
Hi folks. I need to ask for help regarding a bunny found on campus this morning. She has a wound that apparently is an infection from a bite (suspected from a dog) that has become a mass in her second skin on her side and underneath. The estimated cost of surgery is $450. If anyone is able to help me with this bunny is would be appreciated. I found her this morning and took her to the vet in the middle of caring for other problems at home so I don't even have a picture to share yet but she is a very sweet bunny and I would like to help her. She deserves a chance and she can totally survive this with treatment. If you would like to donate to help her please send it to: Paypal: email@example.com Thank you so much.
I've added the rescue pages suggested. The only one I cannot find is Judge's Park. Anyone have a link to that one? I'm sure it exists but for some reason I'm having trouble locating it. Thanks so much.
Sorry folks...recovering from the flu.
Thank you everyone for the rescue suggestions. I promise to sort through each and every one of the posts and add a 'like' to each of them so we can be aware of animals in need. The pre-holiday craziness has started here so I'm a little busy at the moment but I do promise to take care of that when I have a little time. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and the significant changes I see for the future of this non profit (including getting the non profit status, running the etsy page, helping bunnies etc) Thank you so much for being here with me in the beginning phases of putting this sort of non profit together. I really do appreciate it! Be sure to keep your pets safe from toxic plants, ornaments and if you have a house full of visitors give your babies a place to go and be alone if they feel overwhelmed. Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you all have a favorite rescue (or 10 or more) please share it here so I can be sure to 'like' their page and be aware of bunnies in need. I want to be supporting the rescues and bunnies in need that you care about. So peeps...what rescues do you like?
A change is coming! I have made the decision to leave rescue work and focus exclusively on doing my artwork (some of it more artsy, some of it more simple crafts to offer a variety) and sell things/run auctions to raise money to support rescues. That's what this page was all about and I have felt very uncomfortable asking for funds and not staying true to the direction I had planned for this foundation. So...please help share this page if you can and look forward to the things to come. 100% of the sales will go towards the support of rescued rabbits. I will donate the materials and time. It's my way of being a part of the rescue community while doing what I love to do. I'm really looking forward to things to come. Onward and upward ~Rita~
It is hard for me to type these words without the tears flowing, but Cookie passed away in my arms last night. I was so blessed to love her for a short time. Thank you all for your tremendous support in caring for her. I will be seeking answers about the shelter that she came from as there are too many being lost to botched surgeries. I will also be getting a necropsy done. I wouldn't usually do it but I need answers, both in my concerns about this county shelter and for my own peace of mind. RIP sweet little girl Cookie
Hi folks. I wanted to give you all an update. Today Cookie is acting like a normal bunny and she is full of energy! Of course, she still needs to be quiet and heal, but she is showing us she's feeling much better!
Wilson is home. He's on an antibiotic now to see if it will help the infected ulcer in his eye but the vet is not optimistic. If he doesn't improve he will need surgery to remove the eye. If you're able to donate towards his care it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
