Red Production Company is a British independent TV production company, formed in 1998 by Nicola Shindler. Nicola Shindler set up Red Production Company in January 1998 to work with writers on modern, innovative and entertaining drama. Red first went into production Spring 1998 on Russell T Davies' 8 part serial, Queer As Folk, for Channel 4 and has since gone on to produce quality drama for the BBC, ITV and SKY. Nicola's recent successes include Scott & Bailey, Last Tango in Halifax, both written by Sally Wainwright, as well as Bedlam for SKY Living and SKY Atlantic's first UK commission, Hit & Miss written by Sean Conway and starring Chloe Sevigny. Nicola is busy in production on the second series of Last Tango in Halifax, as well as a new three part thriller for ITV1 called Prey, starring John Simm. Red looks forward to a number of new transmissions and releases in 2013/14, including Sally Wainwright’s new six part drama Happy Valley as well as The Driver for BBC1, starring David Morrissey.
