The Lodge, formerly the New Occidental Hotel, offers housing for 45 people and runs an arts and life skills resource centre for residents and community members, many of whom struggle with mental health issues and homelessness.
The Red Road Lodge is a safe, abstinence based recovery facility for homeless individuals to stay during their healing journey. Our street people are often suffering from co-occurring disorders such as trauma, mental illness and addiction. Many are challenged with cognitive impairment. Our program based living environment requires their active participation in our life-skill mentoring sessions, art and creativity workshops, group information presentations and relapse prevention support meetings. Individuals benefit from our additional support, which includes access to basic needs (food and clothing)and social service agency referrals. Members of our program provide two hours of volunteer time each week to contribute to the overall wellness of our community - opportunities which often lead to employment. Please note, all participants self select to enter our program. As a second stage housing centre we do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Residential Tenancies Branch.
Our mission is to communicate the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to every young person in Winnipeg and the surrounding area.
