The Refugee Services of Texas was established in 1978 and is affiliated with: Church World Service and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. Our Fort Worth Service Center was opened in 1996 and has provided resettlement services to over 2,500 refugees, asylees, and other displaced persons. RST Fort Worth offers programs to assist refugees with basic needs and services during their initial resettlement to the U.S. These programs provide various services including welcoming refugees at the airport, setting up apartments, employment services, and orienting clients regarding our U.S. laws and cultural norms. Refugee clients are provided with case management and financial assistance while they work to meet the challenges of starting a new life here in our Fort Worth neighborhood. All of our refugee clients have permission to work in the US and can apply for their permanent residency after they have been here one year and citizenship after here five years. Additionally, RST-FW offers low-cost immigration services to eligible clients regarding adjustment of status, naturalization, and family reunification.
