FRIDAY 25 JULY 2014 By now you may have heard the sad news of Jerry Brenner’s passing on February 24. Not surprisingly, hundreds of friends and colleagues from across the country attended his funeral. The Music Industry, past and present, east and west congregated with Jerry’s family and friends to express their sorrow and to share anecdotes about this self-made legend who cared for so many during his lifetime. Jerry’s Facebook page has served as an extended “service”, if you will, with thousands posting photos and remembrances. These heartfelt messages are of great comfort to those who love him. Through these expressions of sympathy, both in person and through social media, scores of colleagues reconnected after many years, while many others formed new connections. It’s clear that Jerry still has the ability to influence people in the most positive way. To honor Jerry Brenner’s compassion, generosity and love of music, the Gerald N. Brenner Music Scholarship Fund has been created. The Foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships to deserving High School graduates so that they can realize their dream of pursuing a life in music. In order to endow the Foundation there will be a fundraising event held at The Paradise in Boston on Friday July 25.
