Rhein Donau Club is a non profit, non denominational and non political organisation and is operated by volunteers and all the moneys raised are channelled to the maintenance and improvements of Club facilities, promotion of educational and cultural activities, assist in the care of aging club members and contribute to major disasters within Australia and overseas. The Club is a member of National Association of German Speaking Clubs (Die Brücke Australien). The Club operates a number of very active cultural and sporting groups; Heimat Choir (Home Choir) – mixed choir under the baton of a professional musician. The Choir performs at many retirement villages in the metropolitan area, multicultural functions and Club functions free of charge and donations are gratefully accepted. Edelweiss Dance Group and Alpine Bell Ringers – a very dedicated group performing at request at a range of functions and Club functions free of charge and donations are gratefully accepted. Whilst proficiency in the German language is obviously an advantage, this not a prerequisite. If necessary, we will teach you to pronounce (as distinct from speak) German. In fact, the only thing you must have is a love of singing! We practice every Tuesday evening (except for a short recess over Christmas and New Year) at 7:30pm at the RDC clubrooms, 110 North Lake Rd.
