Sixth through eighth graders attend, feeding from Andrews Elementary, Skaggs Elementary, and Wyatt Elementary Schools. Rice, along with Robinson Middle School and Schimelpfenig Middle School, feed into Jasper High School (Grades 9-10) and then Plano West High School (Grades 11-12). History: Rice Middle School, which opened in 1999, is named after Charles Millard Rice, a farmer and a bank director of late 19th-century Plano, Texas. It is considered to be the best middle school in Plano, Texas, and 2nd best in Texas.
