There will be an open house for eighth graders (incoming ninth graders next year) at Richmond Hill HS tomorrow, Saturday, October 26, 2013 between 9 AM and 12 PM in the main building (114 Street).
Parent/Teacher Conferences take place tomorrow night, Thursday, October 24, 2013 between 6 pm and 8:30 pm and on Friday, October 25, 2013 between 1 pm and 3 pm. All parents are urged to attend. Also, the RHHS PTA will hold its monthly meeting on October 24, 2013 at 5 pm in the main building (114 Street) .
Just a reminder to the sophomores and juniors who are taking the PSAT tomorrow (Wednesday, October 16, 2013) to show up to RHHS at 7:45 AM and to leave all electronic devices, including cell phones, at home!!!!
Senior Parent Night is on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 6 PM. Parents are invited to come and learn about senior events, activities and more. This is a very important meeting and all are urged to attend.
Just a reminder that the first PTA Meeting of the 2013-14 school year will be held this Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 7 pm in the student cafeteria of the main building at 89-30 114 Street. Parents of students in all grades (9 - 12...including students in the annex) are urged to attend this meeting!!!!
The first PTA general meeting of the 2013-14 school year will be held next Thursday, September 19 at 7 PM. Please join us at the main building in the student cafeteria, located in the basement.
All students must pick up their program cards on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. Eleventh and Twelfth graders will pick up their program cards at 8:30 a.m. and ninth and tenth graders will pick up their program cards at 10:30 a.m. Students must report to the auditorium on September 4th and must bring photo I.D. with them. Please use the entrance on 113th Street. Students who pick up their program cards will also receive their metro card on September 4, 2013.
RHHS's orientation for incoming 9th graders will take place on Wednesday August 28th at 10am until 1pm. All incoming ninth graders should report to the 114th Street facility. The orientation will allow students and families to learn about the upcoming year and provide students a tour of the appropriate facilities.

Attention RHHS parents and families-- You are invited to attend our Annual School-wide Title 1 Meeting to be held on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30 PM followed by our General PTA Meeting at 7 PM. Durign the Title 1 Meeting we will discuss the special government funding, elect our Title 1 representatives and the allocated parent's portion of the funding. These are very important meetings that all should attend.
Wishing a great 3 day trip to Washington DC to the students going on the Law Pathway trip tomorrow through Sunday and special thanks to Ms. Doobay for all the hard work she put into organizing and chaperoning the trip and also to chaperones Mr. DiBenedetto, Ms. Restifo and Ms. Crayton. GO LIONS!!!!
RHHS is hosting its first annual pep rally on Wednesday, December 4 at 2:30 in the auditorium....this will be an awesome event and following the rally we will go to the varsity basketball team at their first home game!
Congratulations to RHHS senior, Nicholas Phillips, a member of the RHHS Law Pathway, RHHS Law Club and the Moot Court Team for winning a spot on the 2014 International Moot Court team. Nicholas will be representing Richmond Hill HS and New York City in The Hague, Netherlands on January 18-25, 2014. A special commendation also goes out to Law Club and Moot Court Team advisor, Ms. Doobay! Kudos to both Nicholas and the entire Moot Court team for helping RHHS win! GO LIONS!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, RHHS! We are inviting all parents and guardians to attend our PTA meeting on May 15th at 6:00p.m. in the cafeteria of the main building. Nominations and elections will take place for the executive board of the upcoming school year. We will be continuing with our nominations which will be officially closed and, afterwards, we will hold our elections. Ballots will be used in the event that more than one candidate is running for a position. The following is a list of all available executive board positions: 1. President or Co-Presidents (Co-Presidents must run as a team.) 2. Secretary 3. Treasurer 4. 1st Vice President 5. 2nd Vice President 6. Assistant Secretary/Treasurer The only qualification for any of the available positions is that you must be a parent or guardian of a child in Richmond Hill High School. Term limits for each officer position of the association shall be two consecutive one year terms. A candidate who has served the maximum number of terms may be elected to serve an additional term provided no other interested candidate is nominated and is willing to serve. Please mark your calendar and make every effort to come out and participate in our nominations and elections. If it is possible, please come a little earlier as we will have to verify voter eligibility (Note to RHHS teachers--you are eliigible to vote, too!) in order to conduct a proper election.
