Rockin' Ludina. It all started two years ago... two guys working at a beer and whisky café whose interest was sparked by the craft beer revolution. After that there was no stopping us, we were up for tasting anything. Starting with the traditional Belgian specialty beers. Our café had 17 beers on draft and around 150 bottled beers. All of them were tasted. But we wanted more... Brewdog was one of the first inspiration with their ballsy attitude, graphic awesomeness and most important: Their kickass beers. Soon we discovered two of the finest breweries in the game were in our own country. Emelisse and De Molen. Their willingness to break down doors and explore the boundaries inspired us. We don't care if it's beer from across the street, across the country, across the world or even across the universe. Hell, we would even drink beer from Jupiter. Brewing Beer is like making music. And there two different kinds of artists. Those who want to please the people by making safe, boring and dull products suitable for the masses. And those who don't give a ship and are all about making the stuff they would wan't to consume. We are new to this game and respect the traditional breweries. Know your history.. Rochefort 8 and Chimay Blue are still two of the best beers in the game and have been for a lot of years. But De Molen Rasputin on Cherries and Emelisse White Label Ardbeg Barrel Aged make the top 10 list with ease too. The IPA hype has made it clear that there is room for more, we do respect the hoppy beers but realize the core of the beer is in the malts. Too many brewers dump a shipload of Cascade, Amarillo or other American hops in their beers and think they made a great IPA. Too bad for them we see through that. Malt is the body of the beer and craft beer drinkers will recognize a hollow and boring IPA. Hops are hip, but malts are master. We love the traditional beers of Chimay and Rochefort and the Black Gold De Molen and Emelisse produce, we also recognise young new breweries such as Oedipus and Two Chefs, and we love the pirate attitude of Whitepony. We're still learning everyday and hope we will soon be added to this list of breweries. For now, we'll keep on brewing in small batches and if we're satisfied with the result.. a big batch will be brewed at a professional brewery. We'll keep you guys posted.
