How To Get to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio

The Toledo Ronald McDonald House provides a "Home Away From Home" for families of children receiving medical treatment at Toledo area hospitals. Our house provides comfortable, supportive lodging for these families during their time of need. It serves as a temporary residence near the medical facility where families can sleep in their own room, eat, relax, shower, and find support from other families in similar situations. In return families are asked to make a donation of $10 a day; however if that is not possible, we will work with each family on an individual basis to accomodate their needs. No family is turned away for an inability to pay. Our house is truly "built out of love." They continue to flourish because of the nuturing compassion of our staff and volunteers, and the generosity of our donors. Part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio's mission is to help all children throughout the community. A huge effort has been made by the RMHC of NWO to do this. Every year the RMHC of NWO provides grants for programs around the community that are set up to educate and promote health and wellness to children, provide children with activities for children to excercise and meet others, and other programs that influence children in some way. Some of the programs that the RMHC of NWO participated in last year include: Sunshine Foundation / Toledo Day Nursery / Hardin County Family YMCA / Diabetes Youth Services / The Sight Center / Autism Academy of Learning / Whitmer High School Family and Consumer Sciences / Francis Family YMCA / Assistance Dogs of America / The American Heart Association / The Friendly Center / Partners in Education. Any donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio not only helps out our house but it also contributes to the well-being of the children in our commounity.
