This is Freddie, he belongs to Clare who is one of our new receptionists. Clare found a tick which had fell off Freddie, It was dead as Freddie is treated regularly with an effective tick medication. Ticks are more common in the warmer months and are often picked up when walking in woodland and Moreland areas especially where sheep are. πŸπŸ‘ Ask how you can protect your pets from ticks. To make sure any future parasites are noticed early Freddie's mum decided to have him clipped shorter. This is the awfully handsome Freddie pre hair cut with Zoe and post hair cut with his mummy. Looks like a different dog!!!πŸ•

BBC 1 Panorama, Britain's puppy dealers exposed. Not enough people are aware about puppy farming. Not all puppy farmers have a big warehouse full of dogs. Please be more careful when buying puppies. Know what questions to ask. Know what signs to look out for. Meet the mother and littler, several times if possible. Don't be afraid to ask for an independent vet check. Any questions ask your Vets/nurses.

~ March 30th, 2016 ~ Linthorpe, Middlesbrough UK ***************************************************************** 🐢 DOG OWNER REFUSES TO PAY VET BILL AFTER HIS SPRINGER SPANIEL WAS LEFT "CLOSE TO DEATH" FOLLOWING AN OPERATION. ------------------------------------------------------------ Craig Hopson is refusing to pay thousands of pounds in vet fees after his dog was left β€œclose to death” when he contracted an infection following surgery. His 2 year old Springer Spaniel "Alfie" needed surgery after he ate a ball so he took Alfie to Rosslyn Veterinary Centre. Mr. Hopson says that after the surgery Alfie developed "septic peritonitis" which is a bacterial infection that can lead to blood poisoning. Following the complication Mr. Hopson took Alfie to "Wear Referrals" in Bradbury where he paid more than Β£5,000 for emergency treatment and Alfie made a full recovery. But now Mr. Hopson is refusing to pay Rosslyn Veterinary Centre Β£3,178. He is also challenging a demand to pay Β£1,201 to "Vets Now" in central Middlesbrough where Alfie was kept overnight while being treated at the Rosslyn Veterinary Centre. β€œI’ve got demands coming in from debt collectors but I refuse to pay the two vets in question because of the way they handled it. "Alfie had to have his intestines removed and it cost me Β£5,400 which I had no problem with paying, but I’m so unhappy with the other two vets." The oil and gas worker said Alife was β€œclose to death” and that it took a third veterinarian to save his life. "People have said "why didn’t you have him put to sleep?" "That wasn’t an option - he’s a member of the family." READ FULL ORIGINAL STORY: http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/dog-owner-refuses-pay-vet-11112360
