Description

Classic plays are showcased in grandeur at the American Airlines Theatre. Musicals and special-event productions are highlighted at the historical Studio 54. This exciting yet intimate Broadway venue has seen our productions of Cabaret, Assassins, and Harvey grace its stage. The Stephen Sondheim Theatre is a state of the art Broadway venue in which to stage large scale musical revivals. This theatre was most recently home to Anything Goes (national tour). Off-Broadway, the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre is perfectly suited for showcasing new works. The simple and sophisticated Laura Pels Theatre is home to the New Play Initiative – dedicated to producing new plays by contemporary playwrights. Home to Roundabout Underground, our showcase for new and emerging playwrights, the Black Box Theatre has housed debuts from Stephen Karam (Speech and Debate) and Steven Levenson (The Language of Trees) among many others.

General Info

Through its education department, Roundabout impacts the lives of more than 6,000 NYC public school students and teachers from all five boroughs each year. With a focus on in-depth programming, these activities range from partnerships with two New Century High Schools (a NYC Department of Education initiative) and professional development for teachers, to in-school year-long residencies and student matinees at Roundabout’s theatres. Beyond the work on stage and in Education, Roundabout is recognized as a national leader in audience development and engagement. From our efforts as part of Access Roundabout – including Access10 (a $10 ticket initiative), HIPTIX (for young professionals age 18-35), and Roundabout Underground – to our Theatre Plus initiatives -- curating engaging content and hosting ancillary events – Roundabout is committed to providing affordable admission, and as many options to interact with the work on stage and fellow audience members as possible.
