This weekend has been very inspirational, I would like to thank Rob, Paddy, Tony, Hannah, Sarah, Tracy, Helen, Marion, Michael, Kevin, Allison, Ben Philipa and Catherine for sharing your life, laughs and experiences with me whist on the Adrian’s Wall Trek, I can honestly say each and every one of you have motivated me to do more fundraising and challenge myself with treking. 26 miles over two days, sounds easy!! Saturday 6.30 start we trekked for 11 hours over fields, rocks and many hills including the Beast! Just when we thought we had tackled the hardest hill, Rob managed to pull another one out. Whilst eating our evening meal, all feeling very tired aching and relieved the beast had been conquered, Rod informed us that Sunday would be continuous rolling hills, with a few flat bits. You can imagine the look of horror that passed around the table. Sunday 7am start, thank you for the lay in Rob & Paddy, as promised we walked 6 hours up and down hills, enjoyable but brutal. What an fantastic challenge, hard, blisters, cramps, hills, more hills, even more hills but some amazing views...................... Thank you everyone who has supported me to do this challenge, I will post some pictures soon and also the amount raised

Heres wishing everyone a great weekend!!.... please give a thought to a next door neighbour who could be sending their weekend alone, say hi, or give a friendly smile, these little acts of kindness can make all the difference to a lonely person......Isolation and loneliness affects all of us throughout our lives and weekend can feel the worst, however as you get older you lose friends and family and you can feel you are all that is left in this world......Volunteering can help to reduce Isolation and loneliness, one hour of your time to visit an older person, to pass the time of day, just listen to their amazing stories, take them to the beach or to the local shop.....if you have time to spare please contact us on 01642 228340 or send us an inbox to contact you...................Thank you for reading this post xx
Thinking of you Tracy Smith hope all is well x
Do you know an older person who has been admitted in to Hospital! The Royal Voluntary Service Tees Valley have a home from hospital programme within James Cook that offers emotional and social support for individuals over the age of 50 that are lonely and or isolated. The programme enables them to return home with volunteer support following discharge from hospital. If you have a parent, friend auntie or uncle or even yourself who has been admitted you can speak to their/your nurse to see if they/you can be referred to the programme.
