Description

The RSPCA Sheffield Branch is a separately registered charity to the National RSPCA which is based in Horsham, Sussex. Although we receive some support from the National RSPCA we have to generate all our own running costs ourselves, through local fundraising in the Sheffield area. We do not receive any funding from the government or local authority. The Sheffield branch of the RSPCA is run by volunteer trustees and costs over £2000 per day to run. This money has to be raised in the Sheffield area only, by staff and volunteers through fund raising, donations and legacies. We rehome over 1000 animals per year from our centre, all of which have come to us further to rescue from cruelty or neglect, or that their owners are no longer able to care for them. Our job is to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome these animals and to raise the funds to do so. The RSPCA Sheffield Branch, based in Attercliffe is made up of: -The Sheffield Animal Centre which rehomes unwanted, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. We neuter, vaccinate and microchip every dog and cat which comes to the Centre. We also occasionally run Dog Training Classes from the Animal Centre. - A Welfare Veterinary Clinic which offers reduced-rate neutering, vaccinations, flea/worm treatments and microchipping to people who are on low incomes and in receipt of certain benefits. - The Charity Shops, situated around Sheffield are a vital source of regular income for the centre. We have shops in Hillsborough Barracks, Stocksbridge, The Moor, Woodseats, Darnall and Firth Park which sell second hand goods and furniture. We offer a free furniture collection service also we will collect 5 sacks free of charge. Or simply take to any of our charity shops or the animal centre at Attercliffe. We never put an animal to sleep unless advised to do so by a vet, to prevent further suffering or for severe aggression to people.

General Info

Our charity shops are vital in generating an income to support our Centre. We are a separate charity to the National RSPCA and have to generate our own operating costs by raising funds and support in the Sheffield area alone. Our shops help to support our fundraising efforts, through the sale of second-hand quality goods, donated by the people of Sheffield. We urgently require stock! To ensure we have enough stock for our charity shops we are urging people to donate any good condition, unwanted items for our new shops. Details of what we can and cannot accept are on our website. You can take items directly to any of our seven shops, Or simply bring items to the Animal Centre in Attercliffe, for larger volumes of items please contact our Moor shop to arrange furniture collections or 5 or more sacks.
