Salt and Light Gymnastics A life-long passion of mine, gymnastics has taught me so much more than sheer physical and mental endurance. It has been my dream to enrich the lives of others with the same skills I've acquired as a twenty year old gymnast. Gymnastics incorporates the mind and the body into one, and this sport is world renowned as one of the toughest yet most rewarding sports to ever exist. This fund is to assist with the start up costs of opening a gym in Nashville, Tennessee. Salt and Light Gymnastics will have three main components intertwined into one. The gym will have team practices, designed for girls (and potentially boys) to compete in local and national level competitions. The gym will also have recreational classes, designed for kids who are seeking to practice gymnastics just for fun. These classes will include mommy and me classes, basic gymnastic skills classes, tumbling classes, and more. The third component to Salt and Light Gymnastics is a gym set entirely for conditioning. This gym will be designed for anyone who wants to condition like a gymnast (we will have coaches/personal trainers tailored to gymnastic conditioning), for ex-gymnasts to come in and relive the past, or even some of our gymnasts who want to come in for extra conditioning. The gym at this time will ONLY be for conditioning and getting in shape. If you wish to practice the sport of gymnastics, you MUST sign up for a class and be with a coach at all times. Gymnastics equipment/start up costs are insanely expensive, as one can imagine. To put it into perspective for you, a panel mat (the mats that fold up into four or five panels) go for a hundred dollars for a USED mat. The gym will be opening once Salt and Light Gymnastics raises enough money to purchase all the gymnastics equipment required to open the gym, raise enough money to lease/purchase a warehouse, and find an ideal warehouse. This go fund me account has a goal of 5,000 dollars in order to gauge how well go-fund-me will work out for our expenses. Once we hit five thousand, we will open another go-fund-me account with the actual amount required. (Ball park estimate: around 35,000$, with USED equipment).
