SAMFIT BOXING - REGISTER NOW! Classes will be held monthly, on a Sunday morning at 8.30am. Classes are held in LATHAM and run by our EXPERT BOXING TRAINER, Chris. The dates for the first four-week set are 22 January, 19 February, 19 March and 30 April. Classes are $25 each, or sign up for all four classes for only $80. 💡Friday fitness tip: Action #Action creates #motivation, not the other way around. The ideal conditions rarely present themselves and no one is going to deliver a magical box of inspiration and heart to your door. The first step is just that... taking the first step. It doesn't have to be grand, it just has to happen! Action generates #momentum that generates the motivation to continue. Niggling injuries didn't allow me to hit that PB today but I did more than double my max training volume then just knocked the weights back to focus on speed. There are many ways to reach your destination, sometimes you just have to choose a different route. All the clarity, focus, desire and knowledge is worthless without ACTION! Let’s start the New Year off right and with INTENTION. Time to get creative! Have you ever heard of a vision board?! Whether you said yes or no, your challenge this week is to MAKE ONE!  So what is a vision board? A vision board is where you post meaningful pictures or words that represent goals, attributes, or things you would like to attract and work towards in your life. I believe in being proactive rather than reactive in your life. Part of that means you have to FIRST know what you WANT! Once you know that… you can move forward toward your goals. Your vision board will serve as a source of inspiration. It’s there to keep you focused, motivated, and to recharge you with positive energy. The one rule of creating a proper vision board is this: ANYTHING is allowed and there are no limitations! Just open your mind and don’t let anything hold you back.

Instead of some more empty new year promises, try this.... Unlike resolutions, it works. And like interest, it compounds! Gratitude is a powerful process to shift energy. Being grateful for what you already have will attract and bring more of what you want into your life. I prefer and practice this daily, but weekly works too. Our final exercise, butterfly sit-ups in action. Lie on your back with your knees bent and out to the side, soles of the feet together. Bring both hands back behind the head and crunch up with straight arms bringing your hands towards your toes. Concentrate on slowly lowering your torso back to the starting position to really fire the abs. Crunches with legs in table top position (90 degrees) for anyone requiring modification. Day 11... Drop and give me...11 push up's! (minus the knees😉) For those of you still working towards toe push up's, use an appropriate incline (bench, table etc) instead of simply performing them on the ground. This will promote greater core activation - a major 'must have' for full toe push ups. As you progress, simply lower the incline until hey presto, you've hit the ground!💪🏻 🤔🤔 Remember alignment through shoulder, elbow and wrist to ensure you are really hitting your chest, not just blowing out your shoulders. Try these festive Cranberry & Pistachio Bliss Balls c/- @wholefoodsimply: 1 1/2 cups desiccated coconut 1/2 cup macadamias 2 tbls rice malt syrup 1 tbls cashew butter 1/3 cup pistachios 1/3 cup dried cranberries ➡️ Place the coconut, macadamias, rice malt syrup and cashew butter into food processor and pulse until mixture is broken down and sticking together. ➡️ Add pistachios and cranberries and blend until nuts are roughly chopped and mixture is well combined. ➡️ Shape mixture into balls. Day 10... Hello lovely legs😀 Sumo squats are wide leg stance, toes out on the diagonal, knees tracking over toes. Perform them 'prisoner' style by bringing the hands up behind the head, elbows back and down to add some back activation into the move. 10 full range reps, followed by 10 bottom half pulses finishing with a 10 sec isometric hold. Forget the standard #transformationtuesday cliches, let's talk truth about change: ➡️A few hours of physical activity a week does not give you a free pass for the remainder of the week. No matter how good your trainer or program is, you need to take responsibility for each of the 168hrs of your week not just the few you spend working out. In reality, these are the easy part. ➡️ Change is hard. Many uncomfortable choices, experiences and events are involved. People don't tend to like uncomfortable much. But unless you are prepared to get comfortable with being uncomfortable you'd better start liking what you already have as nothing much is going to change. ➡️ Consistency trumps rare moments of brilliance every time. Like interest, each and every one of our choices accumulate over time...in both the positive AND negative direction. ➡️ Do the work. We all want. Many even make great plans but the difference between desire and success is action. ➡️ Short term gratification results in long term dissatisfaction.
