The San Diego Russian School was founded in 1998 by several families of friends. It is an effort to help Russian children living in San Diego communicate in their native language outside home and learn Russian history, culture, and literature.

Русская школа Сан Диего это коллектив высокообразованных педагогов, которые ставят перед собой задачу сохранить и усовершенствовать русский язык учеников, дать им возможность узнать историю России, познакомить с русскими классическими и современными произведениями литературы, вырастить в детях чувство сопричастности к богатой русской культуре. Основными школьными предметам являются русский язык, русская литература, история, профессиональный перевод, география и искусство. Школа также регулярно организует уроки-встречи с профессионалами самого разного профиля, чья работа так или иначе связана со знанием русского языка. Школьная программа ориентирована на то, чтобы полученные знания в школе нашли свое практическое применение в будущей взрослой жизни наших детей. Школа была создана в 1998 году и с тех пор значительно выросла. Кроме классов для детей, свободно владеющих русским языком, сегодня в ней так же есть отделение для детей, которым необходимо сначала улучшить знание языка и отделение для американских студентов, желающих освоить русский язык и познакомиться с русской культурой.
