Built by A.P. Giannini, the founder of Bank of America, in 1906, it was first home to the workers and servicemen who set to work rebuilding the city after the famous 1906 earthquake. It is a magical place of history and antiquity, and some believe it to be haunted. From our Penthouse Suite, on the roof, you can catch a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and the rooftops of the many residents of this beautiful city by the bay. Rates range from $89 - $149, and can occupy up to three people. Our standard rooms have full-sized beds and are available with a sink or without. All rooms are pension-style meaning that the restrooms and showers are down the hall from the rooms. Some rooms feature two twin-sized beds for separate bedding needs. For three people we have a room with a full-sized bed and a twin-sized bed. Our Penthouse Suite has a queen-sized bed with a private bath and is perfect for a romantic getaway. Be sure to book early as rooms, especially The Penthouse Suite, book up early. On our ground floor is the famous Fior D'Italia restaurant, which is America's oldest Italian restaurant founded in 1886. Offering authentic Italian fare and lots more of that old-world charm, you can have a drink at the bar or sit for an exquisite meal in the dining room. Reservations are not required but on popular nights they are recommended. Parking is available a few blocks away, and we are located in a hub of public transportation. You can get anywhere from here. We are only a few blocks from the bay, and a nice walk to downtown through Chinatown, or North Beach, or even the Embarcadero.Company Rating
