The School for Global Inclusion and Social Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston is the first graduate school in the world to focus on inclusion, wellness and economic development from an international perspective. The school’s emphasis is on groups of people who are excluded from communities here in the U.S. and abroad, due to disability or other conditions. In our classes, students examine the reasons that exclusion happens, and create solutions based upon a set of core competencies. Graduates are well prepared for careers in which they develop practices, procedures, and policies that support global inclusion. In our interconnected world, understanding the causes of social exclusion is crucial. Classes at the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development will focus on research-supported practices that increase inclusion regionally, nationally, and around the world. Instruction is delivered on campus, online, and through international exchange programs. Students who are interested in program development, evaluation, and research will find this school’s offerings engaging. Our cutting-edge programs will address inclusion and social development through a transdisciplinary approach.
