Computer Science, has a long history at Adelaide University. Formed (as a Department) in the mid 1960s, it is currently one of the Schools within the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. It offers high quality undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, and Software Engineering, and contributes to many other degree programmes in mathematics, engineering and other areas. The School operates an honours programme (4th year for outstanding students intending to enter research, or to gain an advanced qualification), and Masters degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Innovation & Commercialisation. Our degrees are accredited by the ACS at the Professional level. The School has a strong research ethos and is internationally prominent in the areas of computer vision, distributed and high performance computing, evolutionary system and software architectures, attracting PhD students and postdocs from around the world. It enjoys strong links with industry and has attracted considerable competitive research funding.
