Welcome to the official Facebook page for the School of Media at the University of Gloucestershire.
Our course teams work closely with the media industry locally and nationally to provide the best possible start for budding TV, film, animation, radio, music, multi-media and journalism professionals. Many of our courses have been accredited - by Creative Skillset, JAMES and the BJTC in recognition of our teaching excellence and close industry links. While our courses are firmly grounded in theory and set in the rapidly moving context of the media industry, they provide real opportunities for our students to experience the workplace, work on ‘live’ briefs and begin to build up the contacts that will help them make it in this competitive world. Radio, Popular Music and TV students provide broadcasts and live video streaming for Cheltenham Festivals, local sports clubs and music events. Digital Film Production students every year win prestigious prizes and have their work screened at the UK’s top festivals. Through Tone Radio and Tone TV students have an opportunity to explore their own ideas and create their own programmes and through our Collaborative Module they can work with those on other courses. Some have worked alongside our research staff exploring community media projects and digital memory. The department’s work is brought together at the end of each year in a series of Oscar-style ceremonies to award the best of the year’s talent.

Calling all confident, opinionated, articulate first time voters!! BBC Radio Gloucestershire want a pool of 6-8 students who will be voting for the first time on May 7th to interview regularly in the run up to the General Election. Please let Anne Dawson know if you'd like to be one of them. They ideally want people in their 20s, so third years that is you…. and BA Journalism at Uog students are likely to be popular.
