A 1 day competition that takes students out of the classroom for an exhilarating day of creativity and discovery. Students participate in hands-on activities that CHALLENGE traditional stereotypes of what it is to be a scientist or engineer. Through the Challenge, students experience an aspect of Science and Engineering which they would not usually see in their school environment!! THIS PAGE IS MONITORED DAILY. The Science and Engineering Challenge (SEC) is a nationwide STEM* outreach program presented by the University of Newcastle in partnership with communities, Rotary clubs, universities and sponsors.
Through the SEC, students experience aspects of science and engineering which they would not usually see in their school environment.
The SEC, in conjunction with SMART runs a range of programs that focuses on inspiring students to consider a future career in science and engineering including:
