Science & Technology Australia (STA) is Australia’s peak body in science and technology. Representing more than 68,000 scientists and technologists working across all scientific disciplines, STA is a respected and influential contributor to debate on public policy. Our mission is to bring together scientists, governments, industry and the broader community to advance the role, reputation and impact of science and technology across the nation. STA was known until June 2011 as the Federation of Scientific and Technological Societies (FASTS). We reserve the right to delete posts which are offensive. Science & Technology Australia has three formal objectives: to encourage scientific dialogue between industry, government, and the science and technology community, to promote public understanding of science, and to foster close relations between member societies.
