Weekend hours also apply on public holidays and all school holiday weekdays. Scitech is closed on Christmas Day (25 December) and Boxing Day (26 December). Scitech is a not-for-profit hands-on science centre with exhibitions, programs and services designed for people of all ages. We make science communication an inspiring and exciting experience. Scitech operates from a location in City West, Perth and also has an extensive Outreach program which visits all over regional Western Australia. We are always looking for fascinating new ways to actively engage people in science and technology. Our exhibits, shows, programs and exhibitions are constantly changing in line with the latest innovations, meaning no two visits to Scitech are ever the same. We were the first Australian Science centre to produce our own large scale exhibitions and we continue to design and build most of our exhibits on site.
House Rules We’re a passionate lot here at Scitech and we love talking science with you over social media. It was World Oceans Day yesterday (yeah we're a little late to the party), so this month we're going to be sharing some salty facts with you every #ScienceFactFriday. To kick things off though, here's a bonus fact for your Thursday you lucky duck.... As far as we know, Earth's oceans are unique in the Universe. Our planet lies in the 'Goldilocks' zone — not too hot, not too cold and with enough atmospheric pressure to prevent liquid surface water from evaporating into space. Although we don't yet know of any other planets or moons with liquid water oceans, they may well exist but we just haven't found them yet.
Explore the amazing world of dinosaurs, create your own aircraft or learn the building blocks of computer science – just some of the awesome activities available these July holidays in Scitech’s CSIRO Lab workshops. Catering for children aged 4-16 years, there’s a workshop for everyone. Workshops start from just $12 and session will be running from 4-16 July. Limited spots available: http://ow.ly/VyHZ3014uK0
