Happy Holidays! Enjoy the time off. Relax, refresh, rejuvenate. See you in the new year.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the next Albers Executive Speaker Series. November 13th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Pigott Auditorium. It will feature a panel discussion on leadership and empowering employees. We hope to see you there.
We are pleased to announce that Albers MBA alum Fr. Jean Baptiste Ganza has been appointed Regional Superior (provincial for the Jesuits) of the Rwanda-Burundi Region (RWB). Our alumni around the world are making a difference!
Congratulations to Albers Naef Scholarship winners Sergiu Ipsas, Madalyn Lynch, & Trey Takara. Along with our Sullivan Scholars and Bannan Scholars, the Naef Scholars are among the university’s very finest students. The scholarship they receive was made possible by an endowment gift from the estate of Sue M. Naef. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be undergraduates in their junior and senior years who have maintained a GPA of 3.4 or above. They must also demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to serving the university and the wider community. Naef Scholars are selected after a very extensive selection process, which takes place in the spring. They must receive endorsements from faculty and staff and undergo interviews before being chosen by the Naef Scholarship Selection Committee.
Congratulations to all the finalists in the 17th Annual Harriet Stephenson Business Plan Competition. Nocturnal Brewing took top honors, but you all did an amazing job. Kudos to PMBA students Kerrie Doerr & Chris Thompson and JD/PMBA student Ammon Ford for pulling out the win among such strong competition.
Don't forget to come hear Jeff Wilke from Amazon.com speak tonight in Pigott Auditorium. 5:30 p.m.
Enjoy the weekend! It's going to be a hot one.
Albers is moving up! Our PMBA program is ranked #44 in the nation in BusinessWeek's rankings of part-time MBA programs just released today. That's 8 places higher than last year! So proud! Thanks to all you students, faculty, and staff who contributed to our continuing success. @Albers Seattle University
Day 1 of the new school year. Welcome, incoming students! Welcome back, continuing students! We missed you!
Albers knows its numbers! Our undergrad Finance and Accounting programs are ranked 11th and 13th, respectively, in the latest national U.S. News & World Report's 2016 Best Business Schools. That's tops in the Northwest for Finance and second in the NW for Accounting. Albers is ranked 93rd among business schools nationally and 3rd in the Northwest.
Worried about the stock market? Not the Albers Investment Club. They earned a 14% return on their investments in the 2014-2015 DA Davidson Investment Competition that ran from September thru August. That compares to -1.56% that the S&P 500 was down during the same time period and earned them 3rd place out of 19 competing schools. Way to go, Albers Investment Club!
