AKA Maurys Kung Fu Academy Master Maury has dedicated his life to the glory of spreading and teaching the original system from Hua Mountain, Hua Quan (The Fist from Hua Mountain), as passed down from generation to generation from the last recorded Hua Quan Grandmaster, Cai Guiging. It was Cai Guiging, who learned from his grandfather and Ding Yusan, that put Hua Quan back together and made Hua Quan popular during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Hua Quan has 48 sets in all (12 core sets, 12 roads, 12 weapon sets, and 12 sparring sets). There has been a few manuals written on Hua Quan. One written during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) by Hua Master Cai Wanzhi called “The Secrets of Hua Boxing,” which mentions the 12 core sets and the principles of combining the breath, spirit and ego. The others were written in the early to mid 1900’s by Hua Master Cai Longyun called “1st Road of Hua, 2nd Road of Hua, 2nd Road Sparring set, 3rd Road of Hua, 4th Road of Hua, 4th Road Sparring set, 18 Methods of Shaolin, and the 36 techniques and counters of Hua Quan.” These books also mention the 24 essentials and principles of Hua Quan and Long Fist Boxing
