I believe the best environment to receive care is in your own environment .... Surrounded by familiarity. My aim is to provide a Nursing & Education service that enables those receiving my services to remain in their own environment with the neccessary support, and care to feel empowered and confident in their own abilities to achieve a positive outcome. My name is Shelley Thomson. I am a Registered Nurse with vast experience in the community nursing sector, with a particular focus on community based palliative care. Registered with AHPRA. Member of the ANMF. Current Police Check. Current Working with Childrens Check. Fully insured. Shelley Thomson Private Nursing Service is a registered business and holds an ABN. What I can offer as an independent Registered Nurse is : Continuity (services will be provided by myself at all times). A Consistent approach to care. Reliability. Professionalism. Accountability. Respect. Safety in my delivery of care. Nursing Services provided may include but are not limited to the following: Assistance with activities of daily living (such as showers, meal planning/preparation, shopping etc). Welfare Checks. Medication Administration. Care Planning & Coordination. Respite & Companion Services provided may include but are not limited to the following: Short or long term breaks for carers. Travel Assignments. Outings. Appointments. Or simply the provision of company & a chat. Education Services are available to individuals, Families/Carers, and organisations. I believe "knowledge is power" and currently deliver education to EEN students across TAFE and Universities with my primary focus being on palliative care (HLTEN511B). However, I am able to develop, facilitate, deliver and assess more broadly. Whilst effectively promoting excellence and quality in nursing care.
