About the Designers For nearly two decades, Carl Lowery and Cody Glover have designed sophisticated interiors for clients in Dallas, Ft. Worth and beyond. With a reputation for superior work and a long list of delighted clients, their approach to exceptional design is simple. Don’t adhere to one particular style, but consistently create beautiful spaces with timeless lines that will endure for years to come. Carl began his designing career in the early nineties, as a personal designer for well-known Dallas residents, and soon opened Circa Design Showroom offering distinctive pieces for his clientele. “I experience great satisfaction in fusing traditional and modern in the same setting,” said Carl, “and never did understand the either-or approach of many designers.” He continued to fill the showroom with a unique mix of traditional, eclectic and Old World styles, passionately collected and assembled with an eye for quality and value. It was an instant hit and within five years, expanded to two other locations. Shortly, Cody, a talented graduate of the Art Institute, joined Carl at the showroom and the two became a dynamic designing duo who proceeded to collect numerous designer awards and accolades. Addressing his designer approach, Cody stated, “I believe in building design in layers, with draperies as the finishing touch. You can have the perfect combinations of furniture, rugs and accessories, but if you don’t dress the windows, the eyes of the room, you’ve missed the point.” Winning first place for Dallas Dream Home, Ft. Worth Dream Home, Parade of Homes, and Kaleidoscope of New Homes were just a few of the successes they enjoyed. Additionally, the team was continuously busy with numerous design projects from visiting showroom customers. As designers balancing space, texture and color, their inspiration to exceptional design is often the unexpected rather than the norm. Mixing Old World luxury with modern functionality is a matter of course in many of their projects, but Carl and Cody believe the real key to impressive design starts with the client themselves. Listening to the taste and preferences of their customers is the creative springboard used to assemble elegant yet functional furnishings which reflect the individual personality of the client to make each project unique. Many pieces are custom-made with carefully chosen fabrics, finishes and colors brought together in a dynamic, polished look. Recently, after closing Circa Design Showroom in order to focus on personal clientele, the pair launched Shop Dallas Design, a shopping service that offers dream fulfillment to every designer furniture shopper… unlimited access to all showrooms in the city’s restricted Design District with minimal markup over dealer cost. This includes access to Dallas World Trade Center, Dallas Trade Mart, Design Center Dallas, Dallas Decorative Center, International on Turtle Creek Design Center and many other hot spots. Also, regular events like First Monday and Tuesday at Dallas World Trade Center are now open to the shopping service patrons.
