The National Memorial Arboretum has held a service of dedication, in honour of 52 military staff killed in the line of duty. Relatives of those killed serving in the Armed Forces during 2012 attended the service at the memorial in Alrewas, Staffordshire, with each of the names read out in turn. Among the fallen were members of the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the Army.

The Prince of Wales has officially opened a purpose-built "home away from home" for the families of wounded troops being treated in hospital. Charles met with wounded service personnel and their families before cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque to mark the opening of the Help for Heroes-backed Fisher House at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A service has been held in Cyprus to remember Drummer Lee Rigby who was killed two weeks ago in Woolwich. He was part of the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (2RRF) They wore his favourite football team's shirt, they held a special drumhead service in his memory.
