Bicycling the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail Date: Saturday, September 19, 2015 Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Location: 2459 River Road, Washington Borough, PA 17582, USA All bicyclists are welcome and encouraged to join us as we take a leisurely 11-mile jaunt on the scenic Enola Low Grade Rail Trail. As a bonus, Joanne Kilgour, director of the PA Chapter of the Sierra Club, will ride with us and discuss, briefly, the different energy producers and environmental concerns along this stretch of the Susquehanna River. Joanne’s remarks are expected to focus on such issues as wind energy, landfills and methane capture, hydroelectric dams and fish ladders, and oil trains that use tracks alongside the river and in the vicinity of the trail. Riders are asked to meet leaders Merv Stoltzfus and Brian Vandegrift at the trailhead’s information kiosk where they will sign a waiver of liability. The trail parking lot is located in Manor Twp., five miles south of Columbia on River Road (Route 441) just below the Turkey Hill wind turbines.
