Recovery bed pgm in the making @SiloamMission. All we need to raise is $30K! http://buff.ly/28QvKT1 #GiveMeRest
So our new friends from Sunova Credit Union are pretty sensational. Today in front of our Madison Transitional Housing facility, members of the Sunova Board, their marketing team and yes... Gallagher the St. Bernard dropped off the proceeds from their charity golf classic along with 2 carloads of hygiene items for us. This is such a great new partner for Siloam and we cannot thank them enough for the financial and morale boost this summer!
The Smile of the Day is really one of the best and we are so happy to be experiencing it regularly these days. You see our beloved CEO Dr. Garry Corbett recently suffered a heart attack. Many of you have already reached out to Garry. He wanted us to pass on this message..... "It was four weeks today that I experienced what many middle aged men have – a heart attack. But thanks to God’s mercy and the wonderful medical staff I am well on the way to recovery and back at work. I want to take this opportunity to thank Siloam Mission’s community for the many prayers and words of support they have given me during this time of recovery. I am so fortunate to be part of such a loving and caring community. Thank you"
Thank you of the day! A big thanks to Paul, Laura, Addison and Murray- Just TV, Who have been putting together the Blink's Garden project for Siloam Mission. It looks amazing!! For more info watch https://youtu.be/m9x-r2iuiK8
YOU DID IT MANITOBA! Last week we asked for your help with our #GiveMeRest campaign! We needed $30 thousand to create a Day Bed Program at Siloam. How did you respond? By donating MORE THAN $62 THOUSAND! The usual "thank you" does not seem like enough. Please know you have provided a sense of humanity and compassion to our inner-city and that you have truly brought rest to your fellow human beings who need it most!
Meet a very classy member of the Class of '16. Sisler High School grad Justin Papoff was recently awarded $1 thousand from the FreeTheChildren Foundation to donate to the charity of his choice. This remarkable young man chose us! Best of success in your future endeavours Justin, and know that you have already made your mark in this world at a pretty young age.
Om Om!! Recently the gregarious and generous Gail Gagne from One 6 Yoga held a special class in the Exchange District as part of International Yoga Day. She also used the occasion to raise some money for us. Gail you are not just teaching yoga, you are living it! Namaste.
Happy Monday! Lots to get caught up on. First of all, as we enter summer full on... you need to meet some pretty amazing students. The Grade 5 and 6 classes from Dufferin School in Winnipeg School Division recently paid us a visit to drop off an enormous and much needed donation of hygiene items. It's always such a pleasure meeting well meaning young folks like this. On behalf of all of us... thank you.
Our very own Mike Beauregard was interviewed by CBC Manitoba about #GiveMeRest and what we want to do for our community. www.siloam.ca/givemerest
Great gift to #GiveMeRest! We had the enormous pleasure of accepting a donation of $2200 from our friends at the Manitoba Dept of Sustainable Development. This wonderful gesture came from the department's annual Shore Lunch Fundraiser. The fabulous Valerie Borkowsky and Mariette Allen brought their generous gift and great smiles to us this week! It's not too late! You can bring rest to our sick and frail guests by visiting http://www.siloam.ca/givemerest
INCREDIBLE NEWS! Our friends at Red River Co-op have just joined us in our #GiveMeRest campaign. They will match any new donations up to $6 thousand! What a wonderful gift. Remember we only have until this Thursday to reach our goal of $30 thousand. It will mean safe day beds for people to recover under the care of a nurse! Thank you Manitoba. www.siloam.ca/givemerest
Hey there friends. As we head into our weekends please open your hearts and prayers to our sisters and brothers in Easterville and on Chemawawin Cree Nation in Central Manitoba. Thank you!

Just a small amount of money will make a world of difference to some of our most vulnerable guests. We are now in the midst of our #GiveMeRest campaign. If we raise $30 thousand in a week, we will have the means to create a staffed recovery bed program for people who need to recoup from illness, surgery or the elements. Visit siloam.ca/givemerest to learn more. Thank you Manitoba for always being there for us!
You're sick. You're recovering. You're exhausted. Where do you want to be most? In bed of course. Today, Siloam Mission is embarking on an exciting new campaign #GiveMeRest. We want to start a Recovery Bed Program with a Nursing Assistant. All we need to raise is $30 thousand to make this a reality. Please visit siloam.ca/givemerest to learn how you can help. Please share this and thank you once again for opening your hearts to our precious community.
Pounding the Pavement. Friends, with summer now here, our guests cover a lot of ground and almost all of it by foot. We have just been alerted to an extreme shortage of shoes and sandals in our clothing room. If you have some gently used summer weight footwear, we would love to take it off of your hands and put it on some waiting feet. Please share and thank you!
A waaaaay overdue Smile of the Day. So summer is here and what are some Grade 11 students from Westgate Mennonite Collegiate doing? Helping out in our kitchen of course. Nathan Dueck is going in to grade 12 this fall. Thanks for dishing out some food and happiness today young fella!
This happened! As many of you know, Siloam was the lucky benefactor for the 2016 Sunova Credit Union Golf Classic. This year's event took place at the gorgeous Selkirk Golf and Country Club! It was an amazing day with phenomenal weather, wonderful people and an infectious spirit! Thank you to Sunova, our volunteers and the wild n wacky golfers who helped make this event a huge success!
The formula is simple friends.
A big thank you to Vi, one of our regular donors stopped by The Madison this week with fresh flowers for the dining room. Truly beautiful, thanks so much!

Summer is here, and for most that means vacation. For others it means extreme heat and daily exposure to the elements. As the temperatures rise so does the demand for basic needs. It is critical that we come together as a community and help our neighbours experiencing hunger and homelessnes. For just $3.11 you can provide a meal and a sense of hope. https://www.siloam.ca/donate/ Let’s work side by side to create a Summer of Hope. Thank you for your compassion.
One of the best partners Siloam Mission has ever had will be on the o'l radio today.
