OUR SMUDGY STORY SO FAR: SMUDGE MONKEY STUDIO an in home and ONLINE Based art studio Co-Owned & Operated by Husband & Wife, Alaskan Artists: Jessica a.k.a. "SMUDGE" & Jeramie a.k.a. "BAKER" Providing Original Works, Custom Art, Maternity Art, & Digital Design ************************************************************* ************************************************************* Both Jess & Jeramie expressed a passion for art since childhood as early as age 3-4. Baker was always drawing things from comics, cartoons & other incredible creatures that he imagined up himself throughout his formative years. Smudge was very much inspired by cartoons women in magazines as well & her older brothers who also did art, when she was younger she liked to draw a lot of dark creatures she would imagine & little intricate designs. All the while this constant practice was effectively teaching themselves skills they would later use to create their own unique styles of Art & find their niche for their niche. In an effort to better their self-taught skills, they began to take art classes in high school where they met in 1999, at Bartlett High School of Anchorage AK. They began to date shortly after meeting finding they not only clicked in personality but also in art styles. They made a good team this way & in many other ways as well, so they decided to continue their journey in life together after graduation & further their knowledge at the Art Institute of Seattle for Animation Art and Design. In 2003 they returned to Alaska to get married. Then in 2004 came home for good in an effort to begin a family & follow their long time dream of having the true Artist life, to live off of what you love to do & were MADE to do in this world no matter what it took. So in 2007 Smudge Monkey Studio was finally born & shortly after in 2008 so was their beautiful & inspiring daughter Lola, life was bliss. Having everything they could hope for they are still going strong & getting bigger in the AK ART SCENE mostly they are just happy they stuck with what they knew they were supposed to be in this life and no one can take that from them. They thrive off the encouragement & support of each other as partners in imagination, & good time shenanigans because life without Love, Soul & Laughter is NO LIFE At ALL. Also they are very appreciative of the friends & family who have always & continue to stand behind them in their efforts toward success, & happiness. ************************************************************* * BAKER A driven Artist, husband, and father with a great creative mind. With strengths in cartooning, comic book style art, tattoo style art, digital illustration, and much more. He is noted for his unique and intense style and rigid designs. A lover of life and the opportunities it brings. * SMUDGE An intense Artist, a wife, a mother, and a creative soul. who is an imaginative illustrator, painter, and graphic designer driven by an incredible passion for self-sustainability and expression through art. Her works are often noted for their unique and whimsical style often using nature as a source of reference. An inspiration to others to not give up on dreams no matter how big or small, a positive spirit with a lust for life and creativity. * Our Lil' Monkey Lola I know many of you ask who is the monkey in this partnership well, we have an answer for ya it's Lola their little girl she is their main source of encouragement and biggest fan as they are her biggest fans, naturally. Already budding into a very creative and wise soul herself, she drives them to show her that she can do what she loves in life and survive on it and be happy no matter what life throws at you.
