Did you know... To help keep your ice tasting its best, empty out the ice and wash the ice bin every 2 to 3 months. Also try to keep the foods in your refrigerator covered, because the ice cubes absorb many odors and tastes.

Did you know... Many new appliances use computer boards to control them and they can be affected by power surges and lighting strikes just like computers. We recommend plugging your computerized appliances in to a surge protector for an extra level of protection. If you're having any issues, please give us a call. We hope everyone is staying cool during these hot days in August!

Did you know... To reduce the risk of sediment build up and promote efficiency in your water heater you should drain it once a year. For electric water tanks, sediment build up will eventually damage the heating elements inside the tank. Gas hot water tanks will lose their efficiency because they heat from the bottom of the tank. If you're having problems with your water heater (non-plumbing related), give us a call and we'll be happy to help!

Did you know... It takes less than 10 minutes to clean and deodorize your garbage disposal. 1. Make sure it's turned off. 2. Look down the drain for any large items. Don't stick your hands in the disposal. Use tongs to remove any items. 3. Prepare a mixture of ice cubes and salt (or vinegar) and pour it down the drain. Run cold water over it for 10 seconds and then turn the disposal on. 4. To deodorize, place a handful of citrus peels in the disposal, run cold water and turn it on. Now your disposal is fresh and clean!

My refrigerator was out when I got up on Saturday morning.
I called South Austin Appliance and they were out by noon.
The repairman fixed the refrigerator, recommended a better surge protector for the refrigerator, explained everything that he found and repaired it.
He was very knowledgeable and courteous.
He suggested ways to keep this from happening again.
