Southwest Belmont Community Association, Incorporated is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, serving women and girls in Philadelphia since 1870.
SWBCA will continue its efforts to improve the lives and environment of local residents. We will sponsor and support activities aligned with our mission statement and provide: 1) Scholarships in the name of Anne M. Garrot to young adults to support their educational advancement and/or training in leadership development. 2) Workshops and seminars promoting personal empowerment in ways that support positive family systems and strengthen parenting skills. 3) Support of social, educational, and entertainment events for organizations and families. 4) A permanent location and expansion of the existing Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame.
JEVS Human Services Founded in 1941 by 25 Jewish concerned citizens, Jewish Employment and Vocational Service was established to help Jewish refugees adjust to life in Philadelphia. Today, JEVS Human Services is one of the largest, private nonprofit organizations in the Delaware Valley. We are an organization that makes hope happen for more than 27,000 individuals each year, focusing on individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges, as well as those facing adverse socio-economic conditions, including unemployment and underemployment. Operating with an annual budget of nearly $52 million, JEVS Human Services and its support staff of nearly 800 employees run more than 20 successful programs that provide skills development, job readiness and career services, vocational rehabilitation, recovery services, adult and residential day services, and in-home personal assistance.
