Description

As Marketing mogul, Seth Godin once said: “There’s no shortage of remarkable ideas, what’s missing is the will to execute them.” Which was not the case when it came to Spark Production House. The brainchild of Ricardo Giuliani and Mike Kusters, the idea to create a student-led creative production house within St. Lawrence College Kingston Campus was their remarkable idea, and with the right connections and tools they were able to execute it. Spark began in January 2014, and was originally funded by the Ontario Government’s Productivity and Innovation Grant, but now is funded by the School of Business. When Spark began there was a team of 7 full-time students, part-time employees along with Ricardo and Mike, working diligently to create work that would prove that what students learn in the classroom can translate into real, quality work while they are completing their studies. Now Spark is a team of 10 full-time students, who work full-time for Spark during the summer months and part-time through the school year. All of the students who work for Spark come from different programs, and fill in the necessary roles. The students involved with Spark get wide-ranging experience in client relations, product development, marketing, meeting negotiations, business development, project management, and other skills. At Spark, we produce high quality creative academic and business solutions, videos, marketing plans, and so much more! For business, we are able to produce solutions to improve their business and allow them to attract more customers, from social media marketing plans, to promotional videos for products or services. For the faculty on campus, we are able to teach them how to use technology in their classroom, from recording lectures to using different social media platforms as a learning tool.
