The Speight’s Ale House Tower Junction opened for business in December 2005. Owners Bill and Cath Haig hail originally from Dunedin and have been in the hospitality business for over 30 years. The indoor/outdoor fit out provides Tower Junction patrons with plenty of options , especially during summer. In 2006 Speight’s Ale House Tower Junction entered the HANZ Hospitality Awards and won the overall prize as The Best Bar/Restaurant in New Zealand. Speight’s Ale House Tower Junction was awarded the Christchurch Entertainment ™ Gold Award from 2008 - 2012 in the Casual Dining section voted anonymously by customers. The Speight’s Ale House Tower Junction has all of the superb Speight’s family of tap ales available. Our menu features Ale House classics like seafood chowder, blue cod, lamb shanks, steak, venison as well as vegetarian options. All meals are expertly matched to one of our fine tap ales, although an extensive range of wines, spirits, coffees and non-alcoholic drinks are also available. The Speight’s Ale House also offers set menu options for groups, including package deals which can include a tour of the brewery. If you are looking for the perfect gift, meal vouchers are available on request at the bar.The Speight’s Ale House is a superb venue for a group outing whether it is for a meal, drinks and nibbles in the bar or to enjoy the game on our big screen. Our venue, located close by to the AMI Sports Stadium, CBS Canterbury Areana, Addington Raceway, Christchurch Train Station. Where we cater for both locals and visitors to Christchurch. We currently hold a "Supervised Area" Licence in the both the bar and resturant area. This requires all patrons to be over the legal age of 18 years. Under age patrons must be accompanied with a legal guardian or parent.

The Speights Ale House Tower Junction is situated in the Tower Junction Mega Centre in the Addington Area. We are very central to the Christchurch Railway Station, Hagley Park, Botanical Gardens, Westfeild Riccarton Mall. We are only a 20 min drive from the Christchurch International Ariport and 300 metres away from the Christchurch Railway Station. Christchurch's new AMI Sports Statium, CBS Stadium and Addington Raceway can be seen from the Speights Ale House Tower Junction and is only a short walk. The Orbiter Bus stops directly outside Tower Junction and we have a bike stand where bikes can be locked up. Driving directions to Speights Ale House Tower Junction from the Christchurch International Airport 20 Min drive - 8.6km 1. Head east on Durey Rd - 69 m 2. Turn left to stay on Durey Rd - 400 m 3. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Memorial Ave Go through 1 roundabout- 4.9 km 4. Continue onto Fendalton Rd - 900 m 5. Turn right onto Straven Rd -1.1 km 6. Continue onto Clarence St - 1.0 km 7. Continue onto Whiteleigh Ave - 100 m 8. Turn left onto Troup Drive - 130 m 9.
