St. Ignatius Mission is an Orthodox Christian Church community which provides services in English.

Description

Welcome! We are a home for Orthodox Christians who want for themselves and for their children to understand the liturgy (we sing it in English); who want to see North American Orthodox united in one jurisdiction as the canons require. We are a home for other Christians who seek the whole Christ-Christ and his Body, the Church, who seek to read the Scriptures in the light of the Holy Spirit speaking to the Church over its entire history and/or who seek the Church that does not change with the spirit of the age. We are also a home for seekers who are coming to realize that ideas have consequences, that truth matters, and that the way of self-giving love is the only life worth living, St. Ignatius Orthodox Church is presided by Fr. David (Graham) Scott, under his Grace, the Right Rev. ALEXANDER, Bishop of Ottawa, Eastern Canada and-Upstate New York. We are part of the Antiochian archdiocese. Our Primate is Metropolitan PHILIP. Our patron saint, St Ignatius of Antioch, was the third bishop of Antioch, following St Peter and St Euodius. His letters written on the way to martyrdom are preserved. St Ignatius was martyred in Rome in 107 AD. We invite non-Orthodox to study Holy Orthodoxy and to ask our Priest for Baptism and/or Chrismation into the Church. After services we usually have refreshments, you are invited to visit with us! Also, at the church there is an elevator for handicapped persons. A key is needed to operate it. We'd love to help you.
