Mission: St. Stephen's Episcopal School embraces Montessori principles to nurture the gifts and character of each student, leading them in spiritual growth, creative expression, responsible citizenship, and academic success in preparation for higher education. Profile: As of June 2012, St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Houston is a candidate school for the Diploma Programme, which means this school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. We have an 100% college acceptance rate. Our high school is partnered with the Doherty Library at the University of St. Thomas, so our students have access to its over 245,000 books and access to 50,000 periodical titles, and subscriptions to over 150 databases. Service: St. Stephen’s has its own Community Service center on campus—the Havens Center. It’s home to an after-school program for local middle schoolers. Some projects, such as mentoring at the YMCA, are long-term partnerships; others, such collecting toiletries for homeless teens, food drives and toy drives, are designed to match immediate community needs with students’ interests and skills.
