Denver's favorite neighborhood bar! Serving up great drink specials to loyal folks who like a place where everybody knows their name!
Just steps from the University of Denver campus, the Stadium Inn has long been DU's favorite dive. Famous for its house $2 Evan Williams, it was established after World War 2 and named for the home turf of the school's now-defunct football team. The building served as a drugstore and a creamery before becoming a beer-pouring outpost for DU sports fans and neighborhood residents. The Stadium was among the first bars in Denver to desegregate following protests by returning veterans in 1947. By the 1970's the bar had become home to a biker crowd, but returned to its roots after it was purchased in the early 80's by the Saliman family (who still own it today). Today, the Stadium Inn provides a cozy, yet unrefined atmosphere of vinyl booths, Jim Beam swag, and bathroom graffiti. Students and locals play pool, watch sports, play the jukebox, and unwind in its friendly confines. With school ties both eponymous and sentimental, The Stadium has taken its place along the city's most beloved landmarks.
