At Starlight Child Care Centre we strongly believe that it is through play that children learn best. We provide a play base centre environment with a wide range of materials and developmentally appropriate activities which allow children to discover, explore, make choices and create to their own interests. Through our daily group and individual activities each child develops emotionally, socially, and intellectually at their own rate, because each child is different and therefore grows and learns in their own unique way. We are helping children develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment. This occurs through an open sharing of ideas and a judicious approach to discipline. When the voice of each person is heard, an environment evolves where children feel free to express themselves. We believe children have greater respect for their teachers, their peers, their parents and the lessons presented when they feel safe and sure of what is expected of them.
