Ingham SES responded to a call at Abergowrie for roof damage, call from QPS. On arrival the neighbours said a tornado touched down and took the entire roof off one house. The green mangoes were cut in half by flying iron and the roof landed on the next door neighbours place. Always remember to "Get Ready" for the storm and cyclone season and have your "What if.." Plan ready.

Job well done. Thanks to all the SES volunteers and staff from Cairns, Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Greenvale and Cooktown. You all conducted the clean up operation in a professional manner and restored confidence back into the Cooktown community after TC Nathan passed by. When the Townsville Taskforce leaves in the morning and then Cairns team on Sunday. You know the community will be thankful. I am proud to be part of the team and to have worked together with you.

It's Peer Support Week from 9 to 15 March, that's right, this week. The aim of Peer Support Week is to recognise the valuable service provided by Peer Support Officers (PSO) towards the well being of individuals and the organisation. It allows all of us an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the work that PSO's have done through out the year, as well as a chance to raise the awareness of the support services available to our people. Many Peer Supporters went to Central Region recently and supported all the responders while there. So, a huge thank you to all the Peer Supporters out there in Qld, and especially the ones in Northern Region - Vanessa, Bryan, Kieran, Kylie, Zac, Kimberly and our Counsellor Leanne. Well done to all of you.
