**Snapshots with the Stellar Team** Welcome to all our lovely new fans! To help you to get to know us a little we thought a mini Q&A with the team each week might be in order. Q: When did you start shooting professionally? A: Tina - My first wedding was when I was 17 in Fiji (16 years ago!). I photographed a Fijian couple's wedding. It was a fabulous experience and I've been shooting ever since! It was pre-digital (I learned on film) and I shot with a Pentax film SLR. We used the botanical gardens which face the Suva sea wall. Talk about an amazing first wedding!
*****Tuesday TIP DAY***** Every Tuesday we are providing you with a short & sweet tip on how to prepare for your photo shoot. You're welcome ;) Today's tip is letting you in on a little secret... I LOVE it when people enjoy a good prop! Our suggestion is to use a prop that has some meaning to you or something that you really find attractive to you because you'll be looking at it in your images. For example - recently we've had guitars, a meaningful teddy, wings, vintage items and paint! We won't necessarily use the prop in all, or even most, of your images but it does add a pop of fun, and definitely a point of interest to some of your images. If in doubt just ask us when you're discussing you session styling with the Stellar team - we love to help!
**Snapshots with the Stellar Team** Welcome to all our lovely new fans! To help you to get to know us a little we thought a mini Q&A with the team each week might be in order. Q: What is one of the most *unexpected* benefits of photographing people? A: A definite favourite is when we are photographing someone who thinks that they're not photogenic. Helping someone to find poses that work for them and the best angles for them and then giving them their final images - seeing their faces light up when they realise that they actually are very photogenic! I love witnessing that moment! So many people say 'oh wow, look at me, I look great!' I LOVE that moment. That realisation that they're pretty good after all ;)
*****Tuesday TIP DAY***** Every Tuesday we are providing you with a short & sweet tip on how to prepare for your photo shoot. You're welcome ;) It's at the tip of your fingers! Today's tip is about looking at a teeny tiny detail - your fingernails! This one is for the guys and girls, so keep reading boys :D We tend to love close ups of hands - it's where you keep your wedding and engagement rings, you use them to show affection, all sorts of things! Hands are a huge storyteller and you'll find your hands popping up (not literally usually) in your images. So today's tip - get them in tip top shape. Nicely cleaned and groomed and either nude or a complimentary colour to your outfit for nail polish. This handy tip (yes I'm squeezing in lots of puns) is one that you can attend to a few days before your shoot.
**SNAPSHOTS WITH THE STELLAR TEAM** Welcome to all our lovely new fans! To help you to get to know us a little we thought a mini Q&A with the team each week might be in order. Q: what is one of the funniest things you've had happen on shoot? A: (Tina) I know which one Andrew would say! We were shooting a wedding and the bride and groom were standing on a gorgeous little bridge over a lake and I couldn't quite get the angle I wanted standing on dry land. Conveniently there was a large rock just within stepping reach. I jumped onto it and had the perfect angle! Moments later a large swan swam over, saw me on the rock and attacked my foot - it bit hard and wouldn't let go! Much to the entire bridal party's amusement I found myself hopping on one foot on a stone in a lake juggling my camera gear trying to shake off a territorial swan! The things we do for the right shot ;)
