Description

Dr Steven Vaughan is a Board Certified General Surgeon, specializing in Breast, Colorectal & Laparoscopic Surgery. He is a native to Tucson, graduating from the University of Arizona Medical School. He then went on to complete his surgical residency at Texas Tech in El Paso, TX. After finishing as Chief Resident, he attended a colorectal fellowship training at St Vincent in Pennsylvania. Dr Vaughan opened his Tucson practice in 2002, working with St Mary's Hospital and Northwest Medical Center. Since then, he has added the Carondelet Foothills Surgery Center to his preferred facilities. Dr Vaughan has received extensive training in the surgical treatment of breast cancer. Upon moving back to Tucson, he was the first surgeon in his area to implement the Sentinel Node Biopsy procedure as a crucial part of breast cancer detection and treatment. Dr Vaughan continuously adds to his education with training and research in the latest techniques and treatments for the various procedures he performs. He also volunteers as a medical director for the Victory Worship Center's Mobile Medical Unit, helping families in need with important medical care.
