Surf Lifesaving exists to save lives, create great Australians and build better communities. Surf Life Saving is Australia's major water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority. With 311 clubs and over 166,923 members, Surf Life Saving is the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia. We are a not-for-profit movement that exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship. We are an active part of Australian communities and our movement prides itself on offering mateship, education, experience and in doing so, gives back to the community. We create a safe environment on Australia's beaches through patrols, public safety campaigns, education and training programs. For people young and old, Surf Life Saving inspires a positive and uniquely Australian attitude. Because every member, every club, the entire movement, embraces and promotes a 'can do' attitude to life.
Bowel Cancer Australia's vision is to have an everlasting impact where no one dies from bowel cancer and all those diagnosed receive the support they need. Charity initiatives such as Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, BowelScreen Australia and the Rear in Gear Program we raise awareness among health professionals and the community about the importance of early detection and intervention in the successful treatment of bowel cancer. Through our Peer-to-Peer Support Network, we provide support, resources and advocacy for bowel cancer patients, their carers, close relatives and friends. To do all this, we rely on public support.
