LETS GET FAT!!!! or at least a little podgy :) As the air turns to cooler mornings and nights its time to start thinking about our health over the colder months. Its silly to leave it until winter when you have less chance of warding off illness and disease. Just small steps in the right direction will have a marked effect on your ability to stay healthy this winter. STEP 1 - Put some weight on! WHAT? I hear you say...YES thats right....put a little weight on. Its good practice to gain a few pounds during the colder months. It helps insulate the body.....but more importantly it is ENERGY STORAGE and your body will need all the energy it can get to fight off winter blues, coughs , colds, chills etc. Generally your body weight can fluctuate 4-5 pounds in either direction depending on the seasons so dont worry too much just keep your diet clean, start reducing meats and dairy, make soups and casseroles and keep warm and relaxed.
