Unique, Eco-friendly hand crafted jewelry inspired by the nature. Jewelry made from citrus peels, melon seeds, tagua seeds and many other natural seeds!
I'm Luz, an artisan jeweler from the beautiful country of Peru. Growing up, my family grew our own food, raised our own animals, and sustained ourselves on a small rural plot of agricultural land. My passion for nature and art drove me to start my small business “Sumaq Sairi” makings and selling hand-crafted jewelry. In Quechua, my native Andean language, “Sumaq” means beautiful and “Sairi” means noble, and it is also short for my mother’s maiden name, Sairitupac, which is a last name descendant from the the last Inca that governed the region of Peru. All my jewelry pieces are one of a kind hand made by my uncle or me. I designing and make Eco-friendly jewelry by repurposing orange peels, lime peels, melon seeds, and many other natural seeds. My silver crochet jewelry pieces are my last creations. They are all made with the best quality of silver 9.99 and natural stones or seeds. My tagua Jewelry is made from the palm tree seeds, tagua which also a sustainable alternative to animal ivory. The tagua seeds are sun-dried for 4 to 6 months, then it can be hand-carved, polished and dyed to obtain the beautiful bright colors. My designs are inspired by the nature and culture I grew up in. I hope to bring the most beautiful, unique, and Eco-friendly jewelry to you! In the link below I share a little of my story with Connecting Memphis. http://www.connectingmemphis.com/memphis/luz
