Our mission is dedicated to improving the health, training and quality of life for therapeutic riding horses. Sundance Therapies helps enrich the lives of adults and children by training therapeutic horses using natural horsemanship. Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy cannot work without taking care of the very tool that takes care of the riders.

General Info

Hippotherapy comes from the Greek word “Hippo” meaning “horse”. It is a type of therapy that uses the natural movement of the horse to help children with disabilities gain awareness, communication, strength, mobility, balance and coordination. Therapeutic Riding lessons are equestrian skill based lessons for people with disabilities. The focus of the lessons is skill development and progression while improving the rider’s physical, cognitive, emotional and/or social skills. Taught by a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and assisted by volunteer aids.
