The Welcome Centre is the Surrey School District's (SD36) centralized reception hub for all newcomer students and families.

Description

The Welcome Centre staff includes Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS), Multicultural Workers (MCW), Teachers, and a district team to help support our newcomer families and their integration into Canada. Our services include: • English Language Assessments (grades 1-12) • Settlement support • Community/educational support • ELL Programs for the whole family. Our centre is the Surrey School District hub to support all ELL students and their families in their transition to a new school system and community. The Welcome Centre staff provides registration support, information about the B.C. education system, school and community programs/services. We prepare our learners to think creatively and critically, communicate skillfully, and demonstrate care for self and others.
