The Tampa Bay Photo Shootout brings photographers from across the country together in Florida for photography, education, sightseeing, camaraderie, and fun! Through the Photo Shootout we are able to showcase the beauty and diversity the area has to offer both visitors and residents while providing attendees a great weekend packed full of informative photography workshops, great photo networking opportunities, unbelievable outdoor photography subjects, and most of all, fun! Great courses, exceptional instructors, incredible photo opportunities, all in one weekend in the beautiful outdoors… who could ask for more!?! The first Photo Shootout was held in the Black Hills of South Dakota in 2010, and has grown dramatically from its start. This event attracts photographers from across North America and even a few international shutterbugs. It appeals to a broad range of photography enthusiasts, from amateurs to professionals, offering workshops and events suited to a wide range of photography interests and levels. The Photo Shootouts are organized and run by Outdoor Photo Workshops (OPW) a well respected leader in professional photography instruction. We partner with local universities, businesses, and photography clubs to mesh local resources with the expertise of a professional photography workshop leader. The Tampa Bay Photo Shootout will be held at Pinellas Technical Education Centers (PTEC) in St. Petersburg. While PTEC is the home-base for the event, we will have workshops throughout the Tampa Bay area. The event will be following the same basic format that the Black Hills Photo Shootout has used, but customizing it to fit in with the Florida atmosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a keynote presentation, four photography workshop sessions of their choosing, and several other informational and social events throughout the weekend.
