This week Tampa Jewish Family Services will begin distributing gifts to 650 households participating in the Holiday Wish Program. Toys, food and household item have been collected during the last few months to help clients and their families celebrate the holidays. Thank you to our volunteers who assisted in the collection, sorting and organizing the gifts for this holiday distribution and thank you to all our donors who made this Holiday Wish Program possible!

On Monday, November 24, Tampa Jewish Family Services will distribute turkey and fixings for a complete Thanksgiving meal to 90 households at the Jewish Community Center. The holiday meal will be distributed through the agency's Community Food Bank. A big thank you to everyone who made this holiday meal possible for these families! Happy Thanksgiving!
Have you taken a moment recently to consider the hardship of others? Imagine taking a bus, with children in tow, to pick-up a free grocery bag of food? It sounds like a difficult task for anyone. But for families visiting Tampa Jewish Family Services' Food Bank today, it's what they do to ensure their families have food on the table. Often times, TJFS assists families with bus fare so they can make the trip. 450-475 families will visit Citrus Park and Brandon Food Bank locations this week. Do you have enough food to last the weekend? 450-475 families who rely on Tampa Jewish Family Services' Community Food Bank worry about food every single day. During the first quarter of 2014, food requests have increased 20 percent at TJFS. Next Tuesday and Thursday, hundreds of families will line-up in Citrus Park and Brandon to receive a bag of food at our monthly Food Bank distribution. Please consider purchasing a few extra non-perishable food items the next time you visit the grocery store. Donations large and small make it possible for TJFS to help thousands of individuals and families each year. Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., Tampa Jewish Family Services brings back by popular demand, "Wiggle and Squish: Fine Motor Development," at the next TIKVAH meeting. Occupational Therapist Olivia Shindel, MS, OTR/L, and Educator Marcy White, MA, will provide a hands-on presentation to help parents assist children at home or in the workplace. Participants will learn how motor separation of the hand impacts fine motor development, and they will be given specific ideas on how to enhance these skills.
